DESCRIPTION:Walkabout Asia held their first international documentary film festival. \nKnown as Walk The Doc International Documentary Festival\, this three day event at Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang\, Malaysia gathered documentary filmmakers and enthusiasts alike to learn and share all things documentary. \nThe festival theme is Nature\, Environment and Travel\, aiming to seek out films that document interesting events\, amazing people and intriguing things that address the beauty of our planet and how we care or should care about it. \nThe Festival begin with a documentary competition and received an encouraging 77 entries from 15 countries. Close to 120 people attended this maiden event\, participating in forums and workshops by international speakers flown specially to Langkawi for this festival.

SUMMARY:Langkawi Student Excellence Award (A-Kawi)
DESCRIPTION:The A-KAWI event is an annual programme on the calendar of the LADA Community Development Program. This programme is a part of the LADA initiative to give recognition and appreciation to students who have achieved excellent results in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) exams. LADA’s collaboration programme with the Langkawi District Education Office (PPD) is also supported by LADA subsidiaries Panorama Langkawi Sdn. Bhd. (PLSB)\, Langsura Geopark Sdn. Bhd. (LGSB)\, and Langkawi Port Sdn. Bhd. (LPSB).
