The Advisory Committee of Langkawi Tourism Recovery Plan (Langkawi T-Rec) has convened for a virtual meeting on 9th August 2021 which was chaired by YAB Tuan Haji Muhammad Sanusi bin Md Nor, Kedah Chief Minister.<\/p>\n

The online meeting was attended by the following members: <\/p>\n

i) YBhg. Dato’ Asri bin Hamidon
\nSecretary General of Treasury, Ministry of Finance Malaysia (MOF) <\/p>\n

ii) YBrs. En. Mohd Zamri bin Mat Zain
\nDeputy Secretary General (Tourism), Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC)<\/p>\n

iii) YBhg. Dato’ Parang Abai @ Thomas
\nDeputy Secretary General (Planning and Cultivation of Science), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI)<\/p>\n

iv) YBhg. Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus
\nDeputy Director General (Strategic Safety), National Security Council Malaysia (MKN)<\/p>\n

v) YB Encik Mohd Firdaus bin Ahmad
\nKedah State Tourism EXCO<\/p>\n

vi) YBhg. Dato’ Haji Norizan bin Khazali
\nKedah State Deputy Government Secretary (Development) <\/p>\n

The meeting was also joined by YBrs. Dr. Juliana Sharmini Paul a\/p A-Paul, Deputy Secretary of Policy and International Relations Division (MOH), YBrs. Dr. Othman bin Warijo, Kedah Health Director, YBrs. Dr. Mansor bin Ismail, Langkawi District Health Officer, and YBrs. Tuan Nasaruddin bin Abdul Muttalib, Chief Executive Officer of LADA.<\/p>\n

The discussion focused on efforts to realise the reopening of Langkawi\u2019s tourism sector once the island reaches herd immunity and daily cases are reduced.<\/p>\n

In the same platform, MOTAC has also informed that the SOPs for international tourists are currently in drafting process and will be tabled in the National Security Committee Meeting soon. Let us pray for Langkawi to be able to reopen in the near future. <\/p>\n
