Langkawi, 10th December 2021 \u2013 Langkawi had succeeded in securing six awards at Malaysia Tourism Council Gold Awards 2021 organised by MTC at New World Hotel, Petaling Jaya. In the same ceremony, 46 awards had been presented to Malaysia\u2019s tourism industry players to acknowledge their roles in strengthening the tourism sector of this country.<\/p>\n

YBrs. Tuan Nasaruddin bin Abdul Muttalib, Chief Executive Officer of LADA said, \u201cThe agency is expecting that the increase in number of tourist entries into the island would be much improved in 2022. From 16th September until 5th December 2021, the number of tourist arrivals recorded had reached 472,572 with RM487 million total income managed to be generated. Observing the trend, the number of tourist entries has been steadily increasing every month beginning last September. This indicates how Langkawi definitely stands out as the nation\u2019s main tourism destination after experiencing a major slump and being desolated from any tourism activities due to the spread COVID-19 pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Below are the six awards given to recipients from Langkawi:<\/p>\n

i.\tSpecial Awards on Travel Bubble Initiatives \u2013 Langkawi Development Authority (LADA);
\nii.\tThe Best Cable Car in Malaysia \u2013 Langkawi SkyCab (Panorama Langkawi Sdn. Bhd.);
\niii.\tThe Best Malay Cuisine and Heritage Restaurant \u2013 Kerisik Restaurant @ Laman Padi Langkawi (Langsura Geopark Sdn. Bhd.);
\niv.\tThe Best Eco-Friendly Destination \u2013 Tasik Dayang Bunting (Langsura Geopark Sdn. Bhd.);
\nv.\tThe Best 3 Star Hotel (Sea View) \u2013 Nadias Hotel Langkawi; and
\nvi.\tThe Best Islamic Compliance Hotel \u2013 Adya Hotel Langkawi.<\/p>\n

These awards are proofs of Langkawi\u2019s exclusivity as a world-class tourism island that offers unique and captivating holiday experience for each of its visitors. Efforts to restore the heyday of the island\u2019s tourism industry will be continued to sustain its economy.
