The weekly IGSC programme organised by the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) together with E-Idaman hosted 38 students and lecturers from Kolej Politeknik Kuching, Sarawak at Pulau Intan Besar (formerly known as Pulau Kentut Besar) where they managed to collect around 200 kg of plastic waste around the area.<\/p>\n

Pulau Intan Besar is located at the southwest corner of Langkawi Island and still remains untouch to any human intervention. There is still an abundance of mangrove and terrestrial trees that can be found on the island.<\/p>\n

Our geovolunteers gave a briefing on the Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark and how important it is to preserve and protect the natural wonders that we have on our island.<\/p>\n

The IGSC programme organised by LADA every week is an initiative to reduce the amount of floating rubbish found in the waters of Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark. This programme aims to preserve and promote the beauty of the island so it remains beautiful for the comfort of tourists and local residents. <\/p>\n
