Langkawi, 23 February 2023 – Encik Mohamad Muzaffar Abdul Hamid, Director of Talent UP-Skilling 2, Encik Mohamad Azrol Mohamad Dali, Director of MPC Northern Region and MPC officers attended the Langkawi Development Authority to deliver a briefing on the Academy In Factory (AIF) initiative). Dr. Azmil Munif bin Mohd Bukhari, Deputy Manager of the Tourism Division delivered LADA’s official briefing.<\/p>\n

The Academy in Factory (AiF) initiative is one of the Malaysian Government’s initiatives through the Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) which is a public-private partnership and involves various government agencies to overcome the problem of a lack of skilled labor for high productivity sectors, especially manufacturing sectors such as semiconductors (electricity and electronics), automotive, life sciences and medical technology as well as chemistry and advanced materials. This pilot programme has been implemented involving 15 manufacturing industries.<\/p>\n

The proposed strategic collaboration with LADA is to explore opportunities to improve the skills of workers in the tourism sector in order to empower the marketability of youth in Langkawi in line with improving the education level of Malaysians.<\/p>\n<\/div>
