Langkawi, 31st March 2021 \u2013 In effort to revitalise Langkawi\u2019s tourism sector, Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) had organised Langkawi Networking Day 2021. This initiative is part of the efforts outlined in Langkawi Economy Roadmap Plan (HELANG) and is also closely related to the Reopening of Langkawi as a Safe Tourism Destination Strategy. The main post-COVID-19 focus is on domestic tourism that is to remobilise short and medium-terms tourism packages. LADA is currently developing an action plan with new norms approach concerning the reopening of Langkawi as a safe tourism destination. The plan involves a few government and private agencies as well as industry players in Langkawi.<\/p>\n

LADA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Hezri Adnan said LND2021 received an overwhelming response with 150 participations of tourism industry players, government agencies, and non-government organisations (NGOs).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have met with a great reception from tourism industry players in Langkawi and a few other states. This is a good sign for Langkawi. I believe more interesting tourism packages will be offered to tourists in a little bit more time,\u201d told him when met after LND2021 launching.<\/p>\n

The organising of LND2021 is an initiative by LADA to boost the efforts of promoting Langkawi with tourism industry players. One of them is the implementation of Packaged Tour Group (Domestic Travel Bubble) from states under Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) into Langkawi. LADA also introduces MICE ((Meeting, Incentive, Conference & Exhibition) incentive to domestic groups following requirements and qualifications already predetermined. With such incentive, it is therefore anticipated that MICE tourism segment in Langkawi will be rejuvenated and the number of tourists coming into the island will also multiply.<\/p>\n

The strategy and initiative carried out are thus hoped to benefit tourism industry in Langkawi. LADA will continue to expand its initiatives to revive local economy and bolster Langkawi with better durability particularly in undergoing post-COVID-19 economic recovery phase.<\/p>\n<\/div>
