Langkawi, 21st April 2022 – ‘Jelajah Ramadhan’ (Ramadhan Tour) by Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) for this year is continued, this time to support 32 individuals comprising orphans, ‘asnaf’ (aid recipients) and B40 group in the ‘kariah’ (the area or boundary in which a mosque is situated) of Ar-Rahman Mosque, Kedawang.
This collaboration programme between LADA and Langsura Geopark Sdn. Bhd. (LGSB) aims to support the ‘asnaf’ and strengthen the ‘silaturrahim’ (relationship) as well as spirit of togetherness between LADA, its subsidiary, and the local residents.
“Today, LADA and LGSB are honoured to have the opportunity to deliver our small contribution to residents in the ‘kariah’ of Ar-Rahman Mosque, Kedawang. The mosque committee had selected 32 individuals to receive contribution in the forms of cash and daily necessities worth RM150.00 to celebrate the arrival of Ramadhan Al-Mubarak. We hope that this would help alleviate the burdens shouldered by the recipients at least,” said Chief Executive Officer of LADA, YBrs. Tuan Nasaruddin bin Abdul Muttalib.
This is a continuous effort carried out by LADA to welcome the holy fasting month of Ramadhan. In addition, the programme also provided the opportunity for all staff of LADA and its subsidiaries as well as associated companies to meet and mingle with the local community.
For ‘Jelajah Ramadhan’ this year, three mosques had been chosen as the programme locations, namely Al-Aman Mosque in Kampung Yooi (19th April 2022), As-Sofiah Mosque, KEDA (17th April 2022) and Ar-Rahman Mosque, Kedawang last night. Besides that, LADA is also organising a Bicara Ilmu (Educational Talk) with Associate Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Izhar Ariff on 26th April 2022 at Al-Istiqamah Mosque, Kampung Kuala Teriang. 20 Langkawi community members will each receive cash contribution worth RM150.00 which sums up to a total of RM3,000.00.
LADA had also delivered contribution to 17 mosques and ‘surau’s (Islamic assembly building or prayer room) to support the effort of glorifying the blessed month of Ramadhan. Until 20th April 2022, a total of RM95,000.00 had been contributed through welfare and religious programmes with the objective to support the local community on this island.
