This Sailing Championship is the largest tournament in Southeast Asia that involves events that are contested at the level of the Sea Games, the Asian Games and the Olympic Games. The training center in Langkawi has also become a training center for many countries in Asia. Every year approximately 10 countries will conduct training in Langkawi.
