An initiative to introduce and promote Open Water Swimming (OWS) in Langkawi as an activity for leisure, fitness, sports, and marine conservation awareness. LSF also the 1st swimming in Malaysia and South East Asia to be sanctioned by World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA)

Aimed to bring this prestigious sporting event to greater heights and continue to position Malaysia and in particular, Langkawi as an important fixture on the International Sailing Calendar, whilst simultaneously promoting sailing and boosting sports tourism in this country.
