In 2007, UNESCO declare the Langkawi archipelago a Global Geopark in recognition of its unique and significant geo-heritage features-conferred to promote the conservation of the planet’s geological and biological treasures. Almost 100 geo-sites have been identified so far in Langkawi, with three dedicated parks and one BioGeo Trail, each with its own unique geological features.

The Langkawi International Jetski Championship will be held Langkawi, as one of the water sports events. Langkawi will host this epic Jetski tournament to international and local teams and is expected to attract spectators from inside and outside of Langkawi.
The Langkawi Enduro Challenge is the 2nd round leg of the Mountain biker ENDURO Championship (MEC). The 1st round was Bukit 300 Enduro Challenge, held at Teluk Batik, Perak, and the final round will be the Lembah Bujang Enduro Challenge, to be held in Lembah Bujang, Kedah.
