Program ASEAN – India Grassroot Innovation Forum (AIGIF) kali ke-4 merupakan acara MICE yang dijangka berlangsung mulai 28 hingga 30 November 2023 di Langkawi. Seramai 300 delegasi antarabangsa dari 11 buah negara dijangka akan menyertai program ini. Pihak Yayasan Inovasi Malaysia (YIM), agensi di bawah Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi (MOSTI) adalah penganjur utama program. YIM menyasarkan penyertaan seramai 5,000 orang dari dalam dan luar negara sepanjang berlangsungnya program tersebut.
Antara objektif utama AIGIF adalah untuk mempromosikan inovasi sosial, mengukuhkan hubungan dua hala antara negara, platform bagi berkongsi dan bertukar pandangan, mempromosikan inovasi di peringkat akar umbi serta platform bagi jaringan pelbagai peringkat. Antara aktiviti yang akan diadakan adalah seminar, forum, pameran inovasi, majlis pelancaran, government to government meeting (G2G), lawatan ke produk inovasi akar umbi di Langkawi, Minggu sains Kebangsaan serta Techlympics Malaysia.
Pihak YIM telah mengadakan mesyuarat penyelaras kali pertama bersama rakan strategik di Langkawi yang terdiri daripada agensi dan jabatan kerajaan peringkat persekutuan serta negeri, institusi pengajian tinggi, pihak berkuasa tempatan, NGO serta pihak swasta pada 25 September 2023. Mesyuarat yang telah dipengerusikan oleh Dr. Sharmila Mohamed Salleh, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif YIM telah memaklumkan berkaitan AIGIF secara umum dan turut menyatakan pemilihan tempat akan diumumkan kelak. Pihak YIM turut mengadakan lawatan tapak bersama LADA bagi memastikan kelancaran program yang bakal dilaksanakan.

The 4th ASEAN – India Grassroot Innovation Forum (AIGIF) is a Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) program that is expected to be organized from 28th to 30th November 2023 in Langkawi. A total of 300 international delegations from 11 countries are expected to participate in this program. Yayasan Inovasi Malaysia (YIM), an agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) which is also the main organizer of the program, aims for 5,000 local and international participants throughout the program.
Among the main objectives of AIGIF is to promote social innovation, strengthen bilateral relations between countries, a platform to share and exchange views, promote innovation at the grassroots level and a platform for networking as well as marketing. Among the activities that will be held are seminars, forums, innovation exhibitions, launch ceremonies, government-to-government meetings (G2G), visits to grassroots innovation products in Langkawi, National Science Week, and Malaysia’s Techlympics.
YIM held its first coordination meeting with strategic partners in Langkawi consisting of federal and state government agencies and departments, higher education institutions, local authorities, NGOs, and private entities on 25 September 2023. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Sharmila Mohamed Salleh, Chief Executive Officer of YIM. In the meeting, she briefed about AIGIF and mentioned that the venue of the program will be announced later. YIM also conducts a site visit together with LADA to ensure the smooth running of the program.
