Langkawi, 30 January 2023 – The Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) in collaboration with the Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) has held a Transfer of Technology Programme which is a Technology Application Course located in the Keluarga Malaysia STIE Design Space of the LADA Complex. This programme which was attended by a total of 24 people was held for two days starting on 29 January 2023 to 30 January 2023 and was assisted by the teaching staff from UniMAP namely YBrs. TS Erdy Sulino bin Mohd. Muslim Tan, YBrs. PM Dr Muhamad Khairul B. Ali Hassan and YBrs. PM Dr. Fathinul Syahir B. Ahmad Saad.

Through this programme, participants were given exposure and guidance on the use of new technologies such as 3D printers, computer labs, digital studios, drones, and Virtual Reality (VR). The participants were also briefed on assistance and business grants provided by the government to SME entrepreneurs.

The design space hub developed by the Malaysia Innovation Foundation (YIM), the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) aims to create an ecosystem in an economy based on science, technology and innovation that will facilitate the development of local technology.

It is hoped that this hub will also be able to produce local talents in the field of science and innovation thus improving the living standards and income of the local community through commercialization activities.
