Langkawi, 30th January 2020 – Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) has planned several smart sharing programmes in collaboration with tourism industry players to promote Langkawi.

A few short-term and long-term programmes have been devised to focus on domestic, ASEAN region, short-haul, and medium-haul markets. Some of the planned programmes include:

• Tala Mai Langkawi (Set Your Compass to Langkawi) for domestic market;
• Media Fam Trip (Familiarisation Trip) for ASEAN market with focus on Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia;
• Special package with exclusive price discount for ASEAN market;
• Fam Trip in collaboration with Qatar Airways and Tourism Malaysia for Scandinavian and Eastern Europe markets;
• Participation in Mumbai Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) promotion programme from 3rd to 5th February 2020; and
• Sales activities in Middle East from 26th to 28th February 2020.

It is therefore hoped that the programmes prepared would help alleviate the impact of package booking cancellations in Langkawi by tourists from Mainland China.
