The ‘gotong-royong’ programme, which aims to liven up the area around the Chenang route by painting the hoarding board on LADA-owned land in front of the Park Royal Hotel, was held on 16 March 2023, in conjunction with LADA’s 33rd Anniversary Celebration.
This programme involved 40 participants consisting of LADA staff, the Langkawi Artist Visual Art Association (LAVAA), and school students.
LADA staff painted the white base paint on the hoarding board, which will be followed by the LAVAA team and school students painting the mural, a place that will be the focal point for tourists to take “instagrammable” photos on the Chenang route.
With this mural painting, it is hoped to brighten up the Chenang area as well as dignify tourism on Langkawi Island.
