Langkawi, through the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), has participated in the Malaysia International Dive Expo 2023 (MIDE) from 26 to 28 May 2023 that specifically focuses on water sports activities and diving as part of LADA’s efforts to attract domestic tourists from the niche segment.
With more than 70 companies and government agencies exhibiting and an estimated attendance of over 15,000 visitors throughout the programme. LADA has showcased its water-based tourism products. As a result, LADA, through the participation of three industry players brought in as a trial, successfully recorded sales of RM74,847.00 over the three-day programme, despite it being LADA’s first attempt.
In this expo, The Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, together with his royal family members, graciously visited the LADA booth at MIDE 2023.
This proves that Langkawi is truly the best, in line with our slogan: “Langkawi Best Wey!” Even though MIDE is a dive expo that focuses on the diving segment, Langkawi still has to compete fiercely with favorite dive destinations such as Tioman, Perhentian, and Sabah.
