Langkawi, 22nd July 2023 – Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia and Malaysia Airport Berhad (MAB), organised a celebration to welcome the inaugural chartered flight from Chengdu, China to Langkawi by Batik Air.
This chartered flight using a Boeing 737 aircraft owned by Batik Air with a passenger capacity of 180 seats, involves 10 series of incoming flights until October of this year. It is estimated that approximately 1,800 tourists will arrive on the island of Langkawi through these chartered flights. This incentive is a smart collaboration between LADA, Tourism Malaysia, Batik Air and Sichuan Global Travel Service Company from China.
The event was graced by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of LADA, Mr. Wan Kamarul Faisal Bin Wan Kamardin and Mr. Manoharan Periasamy, Senior Director, Asia/Africa International Promotion Division, as well as officers and staff from LADA, Tourism Malaysia, MAB and Batik Air.
LADA hopes that this flight will attract more international tourists to Langkawi and also attract more direct flights to the island.
