For the 99th Idaman Geosite Clean Up (IGSC), LADA collaborated with E-Idaman Sdn. Bhd. & Geovolunteers from PPL Lestari, UKM and UniMAP to clear up around 100 kg of plastic waste at Pantai Pasir Panjang in Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark.
Local artists, musicians, thespians and students from these institutions came to Langkawi for their ‘Gerak Simfoni Alam’ programme at Kampung KEDA Wang Tok Rendong earlier before, where they held musical workshops and performances with the locals there.
Also, they helped and supported LADA’s effort as the custodian of UNESCO Global Geopark in Langkawi to reduce the amount of floating rubbish found in the waters of our beloved island. This programme aims to preserve and promote the beauty of the island so it remains beautiful for the comfort of tourists and local residents.
Our Geovolunteers have given a briefing on the Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark and how important it is to preserve and protect the natural wonders we have here.
Well done and thank you to everyone involved!
Come and join us to clean up our island.
The more the merrier !!
