Langkawi, 11th July 2023 – The Information Technology Division of Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), in collaboration with CyberSecurity Malaysia, UUM, and Time dotCom, organised the IT Awareness Day Programme at the Auditorium, LADA Complex. The programme commenced from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on 11th July 2023.
As the leading agency in Langkawi, this programme was not limited to LADA employees only but also extended its invitation to public servants around Langkawi and high school students to benefit from the ICT knowledge-sharing.
The programme featured informative lectures on online safety presented by Mr. Edwan bin Mohammad Aidid, Senior Executive of Outreach & Corporate Communication from CyberSecurity Malaysia, and a lecture on artificial intelligence (AI) awareness delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Azizi Ab Aziz, Director of the Centre for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at Universiti Utara Malaysia. The event also included a presentation on Smart Cities by Mr. Zahriel Fadzhly bin Abdul Ghani, a Solution Specialist from Time dotCom Bhd.
Moreover, there was an IT awareness quiz with attractive prizes for participants. The programme also provided exhibition booths involving PC Langkawi, Gearz Gadget and major telecommunication companies in Langkawi, namely Telekom Malaysia, Maxis and Celcom, who contributed to the success of the event.
