Langkawi, 8th December 2021 – Langkawi Development Authority’s Legal Unit had organised a one-day programme which was attended by 50 invitees comprising panel lawyers, division and unit managers, as well as staff of the agency.
This programme has been conducted annually as part of the efforts to strengthen the readily established collaboration between panel lawyers and all divisions as well as units of LADA. With main objective to discuss various latest issues and legal works, the programme also aimed to provide insights for the panel lawyers regarding LADA’s functions and latest activities in development of Langkawi. Such matters are deemed important to ensure the legal services provided are in line with the agency’s objectives and functions as defined in Act 423, thereby safeguarding the rights and interests of LADA.
Through this programme, LADA’s management and panel lawyers could exchange information and opinion to ensure all legal actions taken are consistent with the agency’s needs, while at the same time not going against the laws in force.
This time, the programme was organised with activities focusing on development on small islands around Langkawi which are highly potential to be developed by investors. Also present during the programme was YBhg. Dato’ Suhara binti Salleh, Deputy Director of National Budget at Ministry of Finance who are also a member of LADA’s Board of Directors.
