National Science Centre Northern Region Branch in partnership with Kedah State Government, Kedah State Education Department, and Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) had organised the National Remote-Controlled Jet Innovation Competition (RC Jet) and Program Sains Bersama Komuniti (Science Programme with Community) on 7th and 8th October 2019 from 8.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m. at Padang B, Langkawi Sports Complex.
The RC Jet programme was officiated by YB Encik Ooi Tze Min (State EXCO Member cum Bakar Arang State Legislative Assembly Representative (ADUN) and Chairman of Chinese and Siamese Community Affairs, Climate Change and Environment, and Science and Technology). The programme was joined by 33 teams of secondary school students from nationwide. Meanwhile, the Program Sains Bersama Komuniti complementarily involved Langkawi community with a wide range of exhibitions and interactive science activities held, as well as remote-controlled aircraft showcase. The organising of this programme is partly an initiative by the State Government in promoting and fostering the interests of particularly Langkawi students and community in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
