Langkawi, 10 March 2023 – The Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) has held a benchmark visit by Langkawi Entrepreneur Development to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) factories around Kedah and Penang. This visit, which was attended by a total of 7 Langkawi entrepreneurs and 4 LADA officials, was led by Pn. Lina Azlina binti Zali, Senior Assistant Manager, Investment and Business Facilitation Division of LADA.
This visit session was held at four selected OEM factories, namely the Skinlab Biotech factory in Jitra, Kedah and Mutiara Jingga Manufacturing in Butterworth, Penang which are factories based on health and beauty products and OEM factories based on the manufacture of frozen food such as Nani’s Frozen Food in Jeniang, Kedah and the retort technology factory which is Heritage Muslim Food Industry in Butterworth, Penang.
During the visit to the Nanis Frozen Food factory, the entrepreneurs had the opportunity to listen to a briefing from the founder of the factory, Pn. Hajah Rozaini binti Saleh, who shared her experiences and challenges in running a business until successfully exporting her products abroad. In addition, she also shared tips and knowledge related to her business. Her success has inspired and encouraged all entrepreneurs to work harder to develop their respective businesses.
In addition, in a series of briefings related to OEM beauty products by Pn. Shafarina binti Radzi from Skinlab Biotech and Pn. Niza from MJM Sdn. Bhd. has attracted the interest of entrepreneurs to cooperate in the future.
It is the hope of LADA that through this visit session, it can open up opportunities for entrepreneurs to diversify their existing product offerings as well as venture into new business areas based on OEM products and further expand their businesses into the export market in the future.
