Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) was invited to participate in supporting the Langkawi Back to School Programme 2019 organised by Langkawi District Office. A house-visit programme for less capable families was conducted and joined by Langkawi Parliamentary, District Health, District Zakat, and District Education Offices as well as Langkawi District Social Welfare Department.
This programme was held to lessen the burden of the families involved in preparing for the upcoming 2020 school session. A total of five families with 14 primary and secondary school students had received contributions of school appliances including uniforms, stationeries, and school bags. Additionally, LADA also contributed vouchers for each student to purchase school supplies and appliances to help ease the families’ burden for the importance of human capital development in Langkawi.
